02Common questions

How do we know vision will work for our part?

You don't, until it's tested, which is why we run a feasibility study on your parts first. Lighting and part variation break more vision applications than camera choice ever does.

What defects can vision reliably catch?

It depends entirely on whether the defect presents as a repeatable optical difference. Presence, position, dimension and print quality are usually straightforward; subtle cosmetic variation is where the feasibility study earns its cost.

Can it tie into our quality system?

Yes: results, images and reject data can be logged out to your MES, database or SCADA layer.
